Further information
Located inside the historic Palazzo Comunale in Arezzo, the MUMEC houses one of the most important Italian collections dedicated to the history of communication and telecommunications media. The exhibition leads visitors through three major thematic areas—Sound, Writing, and Image—revealing the evolution of the tools that have transformed the way we transmit information, knowledge, and culture. From calculating and writing machines to telegraphs, from early sound reproduction technologies to cinema, radio, television, and contemporary digital devices. The collection, including over 2,000 artifacts, is the result of the research and conservation efforts of Professor Fausto Casi, Founder of MUMEC, and today represents an important reference point for the dissemination of the history of communication. Recognized by the Tuscany Region as a Museum of Regional Importance, MUMEC offers an engaging experience suitable for both technology and history enthusiasts and visitors curious to discover the origins of the tools that are part of everyday life.
